Post Bulk Palm Seed Offer - Hardy Syagrus and Butia odorata

This is a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to purchase palm seeds in bulk. It even gets better, these are Hardy Syagrus and Butia odorata seeds; they are fresh; and very hard to locate as they are from a location of high altitude (cold). So for anyone wishing to purchase cold hardy robust queen palms, here is your chance. By looking at the picture, this palm is beyond beautiful, LOOK at the trunk!

Here is the spectacular image:

I recv'd this invitation from a very reputable person, here is his offer:

Quote:

A gentleman, over in Europe, moved to Santa Catarina Brazil last year. He is looking to sell palm seeds from very robust Syagrus palms he found in a highland area that drops down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit many years. He collects the seeds in habitat, as well as Butia eriospatha and B. odorata. Here is how he described the monster sized queens:

“I took the seeds from the mountains which tend to be between 800m and 1100m altitude. I didn’t know the exact altitude but am guessing it is around 1000m as it was near Curitabanos. I tend to look at the vegetation nearby, if the usual Dypsis lutescens and native Euterpe edulis are absent then it’s a place that gets frosts and is pretty cold in winter.

I honestly can’t say to you if the appearance is cultural or genetic, maybe they like a certain type of soil, but I can certainly procure commercial quantity for export from these monster plants if you help me with the regulations at your end. In the area around Curitabanos almost all the queens seemed to be of the monster variety, fat trunks, huge crowns, not droopy and frizzy but reminding of a royal palm.”

I'm wondering if you'd be interested in buying some seeds. He asked if I'd help import them into the US. I'm not looking to make a profit, but I'd like to see these available in the U.S. This could be an opportunity that may not come around again for quite some time. As some of you may know, some seed dealers have offered (and still do) Syagrus romanzoffiana ‘Litoralis’ seeds, and people have had mixed results with them. I know for a fact that the seeds we are offering come from the very highest altitudes that these palms grow. They also do not produce seeds every year, and it isn’t very often that a certifiable palm nut is doing the actual collecting (usually some hired locals, and who knows where they are collecting them from?). Would you like to have this rare opportunity to grow them, or do you have any suggestions for who else might be interested?

In addition to Syagrus, we are also offering Butia odorata seeds (also known as Butia capitata var. odorata). Seeds collected from this population of B. odorata have been shown to have a high natural percentage of Butyagrus, a hybrid between B. odorata and the Syagrus mentioned. Seeds from both of these species will be guaranteed to be extremely fresh, which is important for germination.

Please contact me for competitive rates, I am willing to sell them in the following lots: 1,000 seeds, 2,000 seeds, 5,000 seeds, and 10,000 seeds.

If we get enough buyers, we will lower the seed costs proportionately, so these prices aren’t set in stone. In order to import the seeds and make it worth the gentleman's time and effort, we have to import a very large quantity.

This offer is only for US customers.

Thanks a bunch.
If anyone is interested, please PM me so I can relay your contact info to this gentleman.
