Smile Buying palm trees for El Paso, Texas

Buying palm trees for El Paso, Texas? What palms would do good in El Paso? This past winter we got a freeze that lasted three days and killed all the palms all around El Paso, SO I would like to know which palms trees made it and could make it again in EL Paso.

Default Removing your dead palms is easy

Yes, all the palms in El Paso are dead and its an amazing site to see them dead and lined up in all the streets. The best type of palm trees for our area are medjool date palms and windmill palms. I dont think its ever going to get that cold again, but you never know, so might as well get the cold hardiest palms available. If you need your palms removed from your yard please contact me, I have all different types of cranes in all sizes. SOmetimes cranes arent even needed and I can still have them removed. No sense in having dead or dieing palms in your neighborhood.

Default El Paso Texas palmer

If you have arid type weather you need desert type palm trees. There are a few that are grown in the area of elpaso, well houston and dallas as well. The medjool date palm, pindo palm, canary island date palm, true date palm, beaked yucca, blue hesper palm, and a couple of other ones, but out of that list you should be able to find something that suits your landscape. I personally like to look at medjools because they make a grand appearance in front yards lining the garage or driveway.

Default Thank you I thinkiknow

Yes I went with the Medjools and I am extremely happy, They installed them yesterday! I have four across my driveway and four in my back yard around my pool! It makes the pool look like something from the movie Aladdin. I have my regular gardener coming in and putting flowers around the bed of the palms... some perennials...

Smile Sign of a dead palm tree

How can I tell if a palm tree is dead? There are still several palm trees that were looking dead, and now they are coming back to life. Is there any signs to look for on a dying or dead palm tree? Thank you!

Question Helpful Advice in the right direction

Sabal Palms are the most popular palm from my knowledge in every landscape and major intersection toll plazas from Orange Beach in Alabama to Myrtle beach resorts South Carolina Georgia when you get into the florida highways I see alot of Sylvestris and Medjool Date palms they look similar but they are different. When I drive through the West I see Lots of hardy fan palms. Mediterranean fan, Chinese fan, Mexican fan, and of course the Sabal and cuban royal. I believe these would be the hardist of the palms since they grow where it gets to colder temperatures but I have to say florida has the most cuban royal palms I ever seen on the roadways.
