Default Use Plastic Bottles, again and again...

The more we reuse our plastic bottles the less we contribute to polluting our environment. If you haven't seen the pictures of of our polluted lakes due to plastic bottles, then please take a moment and go visit Green Upgrader. I have also posted pictures of this growing epidemic, hopefully we can all make a difference and change the tides of uncertainty for our future! Also let others know, don't keep all this info just for yourself : ). The more we know, the more we grow!

Default Just got this on Facebook... here's some more info

Hopefully if you're at this site and reading this you are well aware of the alternatives to using disposable bottles and recycle the ones you do. The advent of bottled water sent our already wasteful consumer culture into pollution overdrive and it's a tremendous task to put the brakes on the momentum of this waste. Here is a list of plastic bottle fun facts that put the magnitude of this pollution into scope.

* Plastic bottles take 700 years to begin composting
* 90% of the cost of bottled water is due to the bottle itself
* 80% of plastic bottles are not recycled
* 38 million plastic bottles go to the dump per year in America from bottled water (not including soda)
* 24 million gallons of oil are needed to produce a billion plastic bottles
* The average American consumes 167 bottles of water a year
* Bottling and shipping water is the least energy efficient method ever used to supply water
* Bottled water is the second most popular beverage in the United States

Although it can be easy and convenient to pick up bottle beverage products the end cost to the environment is staggering. So be mindful when you drink...and remember, friends don't let friends drink from disposables!
Save money while your young so you don't have to beg Later!!!

Default Recycling is necessary for our society to progress mindfully!

If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars.
ENERGY STAR qualified bulbs use about 75 percent less energy than standard incandescent bulbs and last up to 10 times longer.
o Save about $30 or more in electricity costs over each bulb's lifetime.
o Produce about 75 percent less heat, so they're safer to operate and can cut energy costs associated with home cooling.
Recycling 1 aluminum can saves enough energy to run your TV for 3 hours.
Recycling aluminum cans saves 95% of the energy used to make cans from virgin ore.

Default Christmas is coming!

We should only used recycled paper for gift wrapping and try to be a little more conscious of our delicate environment. The more we recycle, the better off we are. The dumps are getting bigger and bigger and closer and closer to our homes. During this Christmas season, lets make green stand out a little more and do our part in keeping it clean.
