Question Kitchen Questions for the Experts

Im designing my kitchen area and I have cabinetry that leaves a two feet space before the ceiling and I wanted to know what type of plants or palms could fit in that area above the kitchen cabinets. I saw some fake ones at Annes Fabric but they look cheap and I rather have the real thing. Need help with this kitchen design so any help will be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone knows where to get Kitchen Aide appliances at a reasonable cost, please let me know.

Default Making your kitchen look beautiful and giving it a fresh feel

I was looking at the picture you posted and making your kitchen look nice would be great with the space you have available. I consider myself pretty good at decorating and good thing you did not buy those palm trees from annes fabric! You are always going to want to go real rather than fake. It could just make your kitchen look cheesy or bad. I would suggest putting up maybe 2 Japanese Fiber Banana Palm tree's 2 feet in each end to make the space nice. If you have any little decorations or statues that you would want to put in between that would be great too! If the Japanese palm isn't for you I would also look into Cuban Petticoat Palms and Coyure Palm trees also. I love these palm trees because i think they make a home look so much nicer when kept inside rather than out.

Default Personally I would choose a different palm tree for decorating your kitchen

The suggestions that McMacky gave sound great, but myself personally I would go with a White Elephant Palm tree just because how the palm tree is structured branches out rather than branching up. Since its such a small space I would get a 1 foot white elephant palm and then decorate the empty space with some small flowers or decorations.

Default Hey scotty

Do you personally own White elephant palm trees? Whats your take on those palm trees? I looked them up and I just might purchase a couple for my home. Are they good indoor palms?

Default My kitchen

I gotta say that hearing all of your feed back is really helping the process of decorating my kitchen a lot easier. I have definitely decided not to go fake with the palms. It really would make my kitchen look cheesy. I really liked the white elephant palm tree and I think it would look great with the little space i have to decorate. Haven't decided 100% if that's the palm I am going to go ahead and go with. I have also gotten some modern decorations to decorate alongside with the palms.

The Neanthe Bella dwarf palm trees reach only 1-2 feet tall and they can live with less sunlight than other palms.

The Sago palm will stay small if you keep it in a shallow pot.
