Arizona Palm Tree Help And Questions (AZ)

I have a Pindo Palm near our pool that has really been struggling since last year. We live in Chandler, AZ (Phoenix) so have extremes in temperature . We had a gardner whom I requested NOT trim the Pindo sinced it was just getting a good start. He ignored ,me (is now no longer with us), and I hope we can salvage the tree. It has only two green branches/leaves.....the rest is nice and brown....and the core of the tree where the fronds come out is also nice and brown....my husband said that during the monsoons, the core of the tree seemed to be drowning in water. What can I do to save this once beautiful tree and any tips for properly pruning would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help any of you "green thumb gardners" out there can provide. It sounds like the new spears are coming out brown, this is not due to monsoon season, this is to either a magnesium deficiency or the roots being obstructed or detoured from receiving nutrients... If the pindo palm was throwing out spears that were dangling on its side then it would have maybe root rot, which is a condition of roots being submerged in water for long periods of time. Try to fertilize it with some good fertilizer, also using something heavy in nitrogen would work as well... even grass fertilizer can be used to treat the palm. Also get some fungicidal spray, like liquid copper fungicide and spray it in the heart of the palm where the new spears are coming out of. Its hard to really diagnose something with visually looking at it. If you get a chance post up some pictures of the palm and I think I might be able to help you out better. I am right around the corner in Phoenix, so I know our environment pretty well plus I do some landscaping here and there.

We are new to Casa Grande, and bought a home with 2 beautiful, large palm trees that look like pictures we have seen of the Pineapple Palms. The home we bought was vacant for 9 months, and the palms were not watered. We have noticed that the wooden bases of leaves that have been trimmed off, are falling off a few at a time. We don't see this in other palms that are similar in look to our, and we are hoping that our palms are not dying. Any thoughts? Thank you.

hi guys I live in phoenix, Arizona so im a war vet and my hobbies are fixing guns, its getting rather boring and bringing back memories that I am not to found about. So the other day I ran into this website right then I feel in love with palm trees. So im going to need help, what palm trees live long in the heat in Arizona boy its hot! But I don’t want any thorny palm I don’t need the Arizona whether turning it into a hot needle. Also my wife needs some advice about keep her banana palm alive. Pleas help would really help me keep my palms alive in our beautiful but hot state Arizona.
