Unhappy Dying already??

Hi all, am new to the forum and know nothing of growing anything! Lol but I have two palms of unknown type that I have grown from seeds. They have one leaf that is about 20cm tall and a smaller surrounding leaf. Recently the taller leaf has just closed up on both plants and the very tip has turned brown. Are they dying? What's wrong? :-(

Hi, Sorry for the delay and the poor quality photos! One of the plants has uncurled so I can show you how it used to look, but the top of the frond and the second plant are still twisted and the second plants frond looks like its drying up! yet the soil is damp?

Default It looks like the soil is saturated with water

If the soil is too damp and does not drain then the seedling will die... It will suffocate, try to remove it and transplant it into a combination of sand, perlite, mulch, finely chipped tree bark, and some soil, the soil should be about 30% of the items listed.. The more air that gets to the roots the better the canary will be... Whenever I use mulch and sand or pine bark the roots grab better and the overall growth of the palm will become larger... Also with the canary island date palm the waterings should be watered and then let to dry and then watered and so forth...you should let the soil dry up before watering it..

Default they're goners..

Sorry, but they don't have a chance. If you would like, I have way too many Canary Island seedlings about that size. If you would like some I would gladly send you some for free (just cover shipping) and you can try again... Just let me know how many you want, I have hundreds..

Thank u both for ur info. The soil isn't very damp, just the top bit. The top layer is compost and then I have stones and drier soil underneath. Do they definitely not have a chance? :-(. The second one was completely curled up but then uncurled again. Thank u very much for that offer surfcity but no thanks. These two had a special meaning to them. Will be a shame if they definitely don't have a chance.
