Default rotting musa basjoo

So the first questions is answered which is do you have one. Is it in the ground or in a Pot? This could make all the difference. The musa basjoo like moist soil and would not like it if it was dried out. It also enjoys soil that is mild and acidic. Also how cold did it get where you live? This also could be a reason why it is rotting. Did you cut back the leaves and stems? The Musa is tough and will probably do alright as is. DO you have a pic to show me. Maybe I can help further by analyzing the photo of your Musa...

Default Yeah for sure just let me know.

I will be more than happy to help you not loose another Musa basjoo. I was sure it was going to survive. Sorry for the loss.

It is a misconception that all musas like the soil to be moist all the time....they don't. The amount of moisture the plant can handle is directly proportional to the plant's size. A small musa bought at a nursery, say less than a foot tall, doesn't like a lot of moisture and that will lead to rot. You can't give it tons of water until it's huge.
