Default Transplanting should be done when roots are exposed

The best way to tell whther a palm needs transplanting or not is to look at the holes in the container or the top of the soil. If you see roots then its time to transplant, the more frequent you allow the bismarck palm to become rootbound the healthier and larger it will become. Remember a bismarck palm dislikes its main tap root to be disturbed as this holds the palm from tipping over. So the deeper the planter the better for the Bismarck palm.
