Yellowing leaves on my cycad palm
Hello all, I'm new to this community and this is my first post here so please be patient with me. I purchased a small cycad palm about a month ago and it was perfectly green. I live in NJ so its an indoor plant. I placed it in the window which gets the most sun, which isnt much, and also have a grow light on it to try and make up for the lack of real sun i believe it requires. Recently two of the stalks began to turn yellow so I did a little research and it seemed it may be a result of low magnesium. So, I go on Amazon and buy PALMGAIN plant food which says it is for this type of plant. I follow the directions, cut off the two yellow stalks and wait. Now, two more stalks are yellowing and Im at a loss. I have begun misting the leaves with a spray bottle every day because my home is very hot but it doesn't seem to be helping. Can anyone think of what I may be doing wrong? I was watering every few days and now thinking maybe thats the issue? I have rocks covering the soil so cant really check if its dry or moist so maybe I need to remove them? Any advice is appreciated as i do love this little plant and would hate to see myself kill it. Thanks in advance!
maybe the pics can help...
