Default Has anyone seen anything like this?

We just got back from a trip to Taiwan. At a park we saw some very interesting palms. They were very tall and thin. The trunk was probably about 2" in diameter and about 12' tall. They grew in clusters and had small fonds on the top. Here are some photos. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks! Do you know if they can be successfully grown in San Diego?

Default Yes All over San Diego

Very common palm to see in San Diego. Not uncommon to find them at Home depot. The home depot in clairemont always has a huge variety of palms more so than any other store in San Diego they give you a year warrenty on all plants. Start them out in part shade there growing in Balboa Park and at the Zoo I have One growing In my Yard. Cool Palm

Default Dypsis lutescens

They dont look so great when they are small. But when they mature and some are cut back for the others to grow. They will start to develop a crownshaft. Thats when they will turn heads.
