Buying palm trees for Ohio

I know palm trees survive the winters here, I have read enough online to know the windmill palm and the European fan palm are good choices but what preventative measures do I take to keep them alive during the winter? Should I just put it in a planter or pot and bring it in during winter? Do I spray something on the palm before winter comes? What is recommended for palm trees survival?

I would say acclimate your palm via a pot or planter at least for the first year... after that maybe it can survive an ohio winter... this past year my sister said in cleveland it was below freezing for most of it...
