Wind & Foxtail Palms

I've been told that I shouldn't plant a Foxtail Palm because I live in South Texas and it can be windy at times. They say that when the branches break due to wind the palm begins to die. Does anyone know anything about this??

You should be fine with the foxtail palms being planted in South Texas. They are planted all along in Miami and in the Keys and lots of other places in Florida which receives lots of wind as well, so I do not see a problem with planting in that area. Be weary about the cold though. IT cant get below 28 degrees or else they might die on you.
