what is this palm tree? Mule?

Hey Guys, new to the forum and a bit of a rookie. I have had this palm in a pot for about 5-6 years and I was wondering what it is? Is it a mule palm? I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and it gets pretty cold and it hasn't died. Also would it be ok to now plant it in the ground or wouldn't that be such a good idea considering it's been in the pot so long.

they are beautiful palms and they have an arch that reminds me of a horses mane. The pindo palm is used alot in all the northern parts of the states because they are cold hardy. In Georgia you can find these palms in most luxury homes but they are much bigger. add some good fertilizer and put it in a shady place for it to grow faster, if you grow it in the sun its going to be thicker trunked.

You guess is not a bad one though. The Mule Palm is a cross between a Queen and a Pindo, so you were halfway right!
