A Sago Palm Tree grows about 2-4 inches a year. Very slow going. Very!

Default actually first it grows outward until...

actually first it grows outward until it matures then it grows upward. So in order for you to get any kind of trunk on a sago palm its going to be a while. ALso, there are different kinds of sagos as well. Each Sago is either male or female, and usually the females tend to have fast growth spurts, but you can really never know if its a male or female until the actually growth spurt.. : )
