This article was written on Monday, October 13, 2008 and i came across it while surfing the web. Caught my eye and thought it was interesting. I love how people take palm trees to a new level. This man started to plant Washingtonia Palm trees in his neighborhood which is awesome. I have kind of started doing the same thing. So figured i would talk about it. I think everyone should take out some time and either buy some palm tree seeds or find some on palm trees or even ones that have fallen to the floor and germinate them. Look for instructions or hey i even saw some instructions on here you can use to germinate the seeds you found or bought. Plant one any where. Make the world that much cleaner and greener. I haven't met one person who does not like palm trees. So regardless of where you place your palm tree just know if you decide to move, your palm tree will still stay there and give the new person a palm tree that they may love. It will also make a memory. And if your one of those people who do not have a hobby, pick one up. This one will be awesome and i recommend it to everyone.

A Manatee County man is being compared to Johnny Appleseed.
However, instead of planting apple trees, Jack Hawkins, of Bradenton, is planting palm trees.
For the last 25 years, Hawkins, an attorney, has been replacing Washingtonia Palm trees that die off in storms or from disease.
The palms have lined 32nd Street West in Bradenton, where Hawkins lives, for more than 80 years. He calls it his hobby.
