Palm tree splitting in half vertically

Hi guys.


The other day I went to inspect my property after being away for a while as I had rented the place out.

I noticed the palm tree is splitting in half from the bottom to the top in a vertical manner.

I do not know what sort of palm tree it is but here is a picture of it. Is it worth getting someone to come and do something about it. Can I even fix it? Are these palm trees expensive or should I just not even bother and let it die? Is this a common problem?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Its a kind of Yucca not a palm so unfortunately this is the wrong forum to be asking that question, I'm sure you can Google search for a Yucca forum.
