Question Buying palm trees for Ohio

I love palm trees especially when I go to florida and see them all over the place with lizards all over the place. I have done enough research online to find out that the best palm tree for ohio is the needle palm or the windmill palm, but my question is what it takes for the palm to survive the snowy winters and times of killer freeze. How can something green survive frostbite. What should I do to help protect the palm from dying? Some people said they wrap christmas lights around the palm to keep the trunk warm but ewhat if theres six foot of snow and the palm tree is completely buried? I dont know, I feel like I should put it in a pot and only bring it out for spring summer and august the rest of the time spend it inside with all the rest of the plants I have. Can windmill palms adjust to inside conditions if left out more than half the year?
