Default Need help with planning to design a courtyard with palms and plants any ideas?

I already got some pictures online about how to design a courtyard, but is there any advice people can give me about pros and cons and what not to do when designing or planting in a courtyard. Any help will do.

Default Some advice on desgining a courtyard using plant and palm trees

Designing a courtyard is not as hard as you may think. First off try adding some palms in the front of your courtyard. I am not sure how your courtyard is set up but if you can try setting up some palm trees where ever there might be a gate or an entrance of some sort. I would recommend a pygmy date or christmas palm. It all really depends on what feel you want to give your courtyard. If you want to give it a more sophisticated look rather than a tropical feel you might want to add some bamboo palm trees instead. You might also like to add a statue of some sort to give it a nice presence. Pick a color to be your theme so you could get some nice colorful plants to stand out from all the green in which you will be having in your courtyard. If you have anymore questions just ask away!

Default Fishermans right

Its more on how you feel. Pick a theme you are going for and keep it up to date and don't be afraid to be spontaneous with some crazy colored palm trees and plants. The more natural an area looks the better.

Default Using palm trees to decorate a courtyard is a nice way to go

I would personally go with a bunch of palm tree in the courtyard because its going to give the green feeling. I agree with the comments above about adding color using different kind of palms and plants. Its a great way to make your courtyard unique and different.

Default Designing a courtyard this month and need help choosing the right plants and palms

Hey guys! Noticed lots of talk on designing a courtyard and I have a courtyard which I am taking this whole month to design. So you guys are saying to go for the pygmy and christmas palms? What do you guys recommend? I want to add Palm trees and exotic looking plants. Is there anything I should do before?

Default About to start building my courtyard

Any pointers? The preexisting courtyard was attached from my garage to the front foyer of my home and it was originally 5x5 ft but I extended it to 10x10 ft and the planting space on the edges is about 18 inches before direct wall from both the garage and foyer. So what would be good plants to use where its not going to break the concrete and that it grows straight vertical?
