Default Need some help with fireplaces

I wanted to know if it was okay to plant some palm trees around a fireplace. I have a 2x2 fireplace for my backyard and its made out of bricks and it gets warm on the outside. I live in Nawlins and wanted to know what plants I would use for around the fireplace that wouldnt burn the leaves. Is there such a plant or palm tree, I read that they do controlled burns with sabal palmettos, so would sabal palmettos work out since they grow back?

Funny that you post this up because a few months back I was debating what palm trees to put around my fireplace and found out after doing some research that the sabal palmettos do great. I did exactly that and purchased some online and my fireplace couldn't look better. Especially since my wife thinks I have the brain of a monkey and would actually burn the backyard, but our backyard is in one peace! haha

Default Palm trees around a fire place

Try looking into Lipstick Palm trees. They are a very exotic looking palm with a tint of red that makes any setting look great. The red tint would look great with the fireplace.

Franky two fingers, what has been your result by having a brick fireplace since you live in Nawlins? Have you decided what palm trees to go for?

Default Replying to everyone

Greenvine: What was the result of getting the Sebal? I haven't purchased any palm trees yet. So your saying you enjoyed them? Nothing has happened like with the burning and what not?

The real deal: I looked into the lipstick palms and its really not the look I am going for, but thanks anyways!

Pegusus M32: I have not used the sebal before but I have heard of people that have.

Origami: Honestly I couldn't be happier with my fireplace. If your thinking of making your fireplace brick I say go for it! I think I am gonna go with the sebal palm trees just because of all the positive feedback i've gotten.

Thanks for everyones help! I really appreciateit!

Default FirePlace

What's a good route to go when designing a fireplace and wanting to decorate it with plants and palms around it?
