Buying plants for indoors
I would like to buy some plants for my apartment, I live on the top floor and have a skylight, so I think I can pretty much any plant and was considering palm trees. I saw the Christmas palm in the lobby of the office building I work at but wanted to know if taking care of palms is harder than plants. How many times do I have to fertilize the palms and is it difficult to keep them green?

It all depends on the variety of palms you have..if you could attach images, or give a plant/tree list I can happily advise you of which Specific Palms will survive. ;]

I live in jersey as well I have 2 christmas palms the palms i have are much easier to care for then some of my plants. They just need some water when the soil gets dry. the sky light should be enough light for them i have mine near a tall window they are super easy to grow every couple of weeks i trim a brown frond or two form the bottom of the canopy.thats it! they make everything look and feel tropical.and thats what makes life so much more enjoyable.

Adonidia/Christmas Palm - Moving indoors
Hello,
I purchased a 10' Adonidia Palm this spring, and it has done very well next to my pool.
I'm going try and preserve it through the winter in NJ, and bring it indoors, into my house.
Are there any special preparations I should make to give it the best chance of survival? Cut
back on the watering/fertilizing? Any info would be appreciated.

Taking Care of Palms is alot easier than most plants just know the right fertilizer for the palm you choose and water as needed when you see the soil dry. Also Please note when palms are indoors be cautious of the air vents as placing the palm near or directly under an A/C or Heater vent may dry the soil faster thus resulting in the palm needing to be watered more often. Just trying to help

HeyEvery1
Sabal Palms are the most popular palm from my knowledge in every landscape and major intersection toll plazas from Orange Beach in Alabama to Myrtle beach resorts South Carolina Georgia when you get into the florida highways I see alot of Sylvestris and Medjool Date palms they look similar but they are different. When I drive through the West I see Lots of hardy fan palms. Mediterranean fan, Chinese fan, Mexican fan, and of course the Sabal and cuban royal. I believe these would be the hardist of the palms since they grow where it gets to colder temperatures but I have to say florida has the most cuban royal palms I ever seen on the roadways.

There is a great business called CT Palm Trees that can do this for you! Also, does anyone in NJ try to own windmill palms and leave unprotected during winter? Especially near the coast they might have a great sho
