Default Tree for a Class room.

Hi, I am a teacher in the Hendersonville area and wanted to do something with my students to encourge green living and supporting our environment and I saw that there are some palm trees that can be kept indoors. I was also thinking palm trees because of tree or flower pollen and students who have allergies may be affected by the palnts brought in. Are there palm trees that have a low pollen count and would be safe around any student that may have allergies? Which would be the best palm tree for me and my students?

Default Streets of Indian Lake palms

Hi there. I know this reply is late but palms don't usually pose a problem for children with allergies. Their pollen is too large to inhale and they only flower for a short time- if they flower at all. I sold the cold-hardy palms to the Streets of Indian Lake.

Question Do Palm trees like Music?

its probably a dumb question but here it goes. If play the fiddle for my palm trees do they like it? I started practicing inside the house versus the garage and my palms are looking yellow now. is this because of all my music?

When I went down to Florida I felt like my allergies were gone and there are palm trees just about everywhere in Florida. I thought they would worsen cause of all them citrus trees they have growin down there but I guess we are allergic to our own polluted environment. Strange that everyone in my family also had their allergies take a vacation. I think we all agreed that day were moving to Florida.
