hey palm guru im a Oklahoma sooner if you don't know i attend the university of Oklahoma. there where speculation that our school was going to let us choose palm trees to put into our school.what palm tree would best flourish and survive in Oklahoma we don't want a bunch of dead palms trees. would canarie palms be a good fit? would they grow big? also how long would it take to grow.furthermore my parents also lives in Oklahoma and are looking for palms too for inside there home.so get back to me about what would be a perfect fit for a palm in a Oklahoma home.

Default Single Mom needs affordable low maitnance tree

HI, I am a single mom of 3 kids in Tulsa, and I want to put some very low matinance and affordable trees in my yard, and I am considering palm trees, because, I want something unique and I love the tropical landscape look that I have seen in magazines. What could you suggest for me for palm trees in Tulsa OK. Can that be done here with the changing weather temps.

HI, I am a single mom of 3 kids in Tulsa, and I want to put some very low matinance and affordable trees in my yard, and I am considering palm trees, because, I want something unique and I love the tropical landscape look that I have seen in magazines. I live in Tulsa Too! Heres some info I found There are a variety of Palms here and have grown in Tulsa for 20-plus years and survived when temperatures dropped below zero:

Sabal Minor, dwarf palmetto and an Oklahoma native.

Sabal Birmingham. This is a big guy and nearly impossible to kill.

Needle Palm (Rhapidophyllum hystrix).

Goodluck I called in my landscape with real palm trees.com I needed someone in the industry to get it all done have a soil test done to your soil to ensure your palms are gonna thrive in their environment even set me up with the watering schedule a fantastic job from beginning to end. call them to maybe help you out

Try the Teddy Bear palms if the University can control the temperature throughout the winter they are rare and definitely need more research how do they get the brown fuzzy fur on their trunks? hope to see the first teddy bear palms in Oklahoma! Im out in Broken Arrow let me know if yall get teddys they would sure be a site.
