Default Transplanting a silver bismarck palm tree

Hey everybody, I have just been gifted with a wonderful silver bismarck palm tree from a friend who is selling his house. This palm tree has around 2,5 meters and looks gorgeous and healthy at his garden. I am so scared about transplanting it that I am even considering not to accept the gift and leave the palm three where it is. But if I decide to take the risk I would be very thankful for any advices. Is there anything I should do before thansplanting it to avoid the shock? Should I cut some of the leaves to reduce the palm tree size?

I live in Brazil and don't have any wheather problems. Temperatures are ok all over the year.

Thanks a lot.

Default Very Fragile Root Systems

You have to be very careful and make sure not to disturb the roots which means digging a wide and deep hole to remove to avoid root damage. Good luck!
