EL PASO TEXAS Communities DO NEED THERE PALMS. Dead Palms lead to infestation to other plant life. Also it makes the desert really look like a desert. I can't imagine all the palms dead.

Ponytail Drought tolerant.

Ponytail palm is also called the Elephant palm tree. The reason for its huge round base is because of its water storing abilities. The Ponytail palm can go with out watering for months at a time....

Pretty much any type of palm will grow there. The only palms I would not recommend is palms that require lots of humidity. For example the coconut palm, joey palms, orange crownshaft palms, lipstick...

I would get 4 Date Palms. Medjool Date Palms. These are beautiful when planted far apart and with other tropical foliage around them. They are stately palm trees and grow in your climate perfectly....

Just add some palm fertilizer. Its probably been a while since it got its food so to speak. When palms are grown in containers you have to fertilize them every 6 months. If not they will turn yellow...

Can you switch out the palms for others? Don't you have to put in some required oaks and other shrubs? Well I have many Ideas for you but make sure you have the ability to choose.

You local nursery would definitely not be able to handle that (lol)

I am sure there are some whole nurseries that will work with you. Looks like TreeCutter already got to you with a response. I am sure they will have some good prices and are familiar with shipping....
