Here is your best choices. Needle Palm, Waggie Palm which is the Miniature Chusan Palm and the Sabal Minor.

These all will do extremely well by the shore. A little protection for palms in general...

I would use a fertilizer like 13-6-12 for the canary

That is a good fertilizer to use. Its almost close to the one I use. I use a 15-7-12. Any fertilizer ratio close to that will work for the Canary Island Date Palm.

but those are not palms. They do look like palm though. If I did not know better I would think the same. The taller one is a dracaena, I think. I have never seen one that tall but it is very similar...

Its a Areca Palm. This Areca Palm is more mature and this is why not lots of people are able to recognize the mature look of one. The Areca's are one of my favorite species.
