fertilizer for canary island date palms

I use a 14-10-11. Works for me. When it seems like it needs a certain particular ingredient I add that extra.

Your doing a good job. I'm surprised at the effort you have put into this. The horticultural guy is right. The palm tree does go through a stage of hibernation and will require less of everything....

Protecting both parts of the tree is essential in its survival. Heat lamps are good but they use propane and will emit to much C02 and you will have to replace them quite often, I can see them...

I just received them not to long ago...I have done the usual with the soaking and what not and with the container but i was curious to see if there was a more full proof method to use for bismarck...

Thats great for all those northern states. At least they can have a piece of the tropics. The Saw Palmetto is cold hardy too and i think there is a silver variety.

Real Palm Trees is a growing site i see....

They have been non-stop with putting new stuff up. Its crazy. But its some good info. If you guys haven't checked out the PALMBLOG you should....

Yes they are considered some what rare.

Like the Ruffled Fan palm, both are hard to find. But if you do find them, They are keepers and they do take up a bit more maintenance but worth it.

The Flowers Are nice!

I agree the Flowers are nice, but as i did some research on this i found that the travelers palm flowers many times a year. So keep your eye out it could be Blooming right now. :)
