This is a good choice if you live in Dallas I added 2 of these to canopy over the house they look amazing another good choice I would recommend is if you like the California fan try adding ground cover like midsize plants, which will be next weeks purchase...lol...the Bird of Paradise, Happy wife Happy life. The California Fan Palm was the only tree that survived in the winter in Fort Worth Texas. I was very surprised to see the much skinnier Mexican Fan Palms all wither away and the California Fan Palms barely affected. I was glad I went and paid more for the California Fan Palm (Posted on 11/19/14)

I live in SE Louisiana,along I-55.bought a palm in a 3 gallon pot ,Planted it August 2005. It is now @ least 40-45 ,ft & shows no sign of slowing up! I am not sure but it is either a Mexican or Cal,Fan Palm!!'

Can get this palm any where in Florida.. I wonder why. Well i ordered one and these guys had it. It looks a lot like the Mexican fan palm but this California fan palm is more cold hardy. The palm is doing great and problem free. (Posted on 5/19/09)
