This single trunk palm rarely grows more than 6 to 10 ft tall with a spread of about 6 to 8 FT. In its native habitat, the Silver Thatch Palm enjoys moist soil and tolerates poor soils that have good drainage. The Florida Silver Palm thrives in rich, slightly acidic well draining soils. This palm tree also does extremely well with salt winds and being around beach environments. This Tropical Palm comes from the Islands of the Bahamas to Florida and is popular with south Floridians. It is best planted in a full sun and will tolerate no extra waterings once established. The Silver Thatch Palm makes a great accent as it is considered to embody the tropical appearance of being on an island.
