Kerriodoxa elegans is very rare, considered as collectors palm tree. This graceful palm grows as a understory palm, native to small Island named Phuket Island off the coast of Thailand.
The White Elephant Palm should be grown in partial to full shade in a tropical or warm subtropical environment. It will tolerate temperatures as low as 29 to 32 degrees F. For best results the White Elephant Palm should be kept sheltered from wind, loves rich, well draining soil. The White Elephant Palm can grow up to 15 feet tall and mature leaves will grow up to 6 feet across. The leaf stalk of this rare palm is also very dark colored, sometimes black, creating a beautiful contrast in color.
